Oleg Sulkin is a film critic and journalist. He graduated from Moscow State University (History and Theory of Arts). He is a member of the Russian Union of Filmmakers and of Guild of Film Scholars and Critics. He worked at the magazine Sovetskii Ekran (Soviet Screen) and as aneditor-in-chief of the Soviet Film Monthly magazine. For 14 years he worked as a staff film critic and writer at Novoye Russkoye Slovo, a Russian-American daily newspaper published in New York. For 3 years he worked as an editor-in-chief of the weekly V Novom Svete (New York). Sulkin writes articles, reviews, and interviews on film for several Russian language media outlets. For ten years he was the program director of the Russian Film Week in New York. Since 2010 he works as a correspondent of the Voice of America’s Russian Service, covering movies and arts.
